Cold Walks Home

Footprints slice a trail below,
bitter melt breath seeps out.
Hands buried deep like rabbit holes,
a hidden tremble shows no doubt.

Abrupt air forces tense judgement,
frowning the chin upon one's chest.
A drawn out whistle blushes skin,
the thick of it has us blessed.
