Air

We were young when we got told
the air we breathe is free
All deserving of our place here
sits well with you and me

We go to school to learn
looking back I felt such glee
To read, and write and expand
the mind buzzed like a bee

Then you start to notice
those things you didn't see
Not everyone is lucky
stumbling around all so carefree

Children denied the chance
what shapes who we can be?
The air that fills our lungs
can limit our full capacity
